There's a time and a place for everything.
I'm usually a stickler for healthy food, not just for myself but for my daughter. She's 10 months and been on solid food for about 4 months, and so far we've managed to avoid her having any refined sugar or salt.
But this weekend, we sat as a family on a terrace in Paris in the sun, sipping coffee and watching the world go by. Us adults all had a pastry bought from a nearby boulangerie and began to tuck in. Sat on my lap, my daughter tucked into chunks of mine, too.
It was the time and place for that thing.
